Acute Power crisis in Jammu

The state is facing acute power crisis especially the Jammu region is reeling under acute shortage of power and that too under the present day scorching heat. Every part of the city is facing acute power supply due to government's failure to augment the power grid stations despite the load having increased manifold. As per the PDD authorities, the grid stations are below capacity and are not supplying the required requirement and the government has not made thesegrid stations as per the required demand. The people are crying for the supply of power but authorities are least bothered.  With the advent of summer season every year, the people had to suffer for want of proper power supply but this year the govt. have break all the records  of past. Since last three months the people are suffering due to the recurring power cuts. There is unscheduled power cut in almost all the parts of the city, which have made the life of the people especially the old and infirm, miserable. Protests are erupting against the unscheduled power cut throughout the city. On the other hand government has made it clear that the power scenario cannot be changed overnight and it will take time to provide the round the clock power supply. The recent statement of power minister has surprised the people, he has admitted that power cannot be supplied regularly both at Jammu and Srinagar due to the poor infrastructure. During a press conference he has also admitted the inefficiency of the department and has saind that the department has failed in utilising the 800 Crore Rs/, sanctioned by the union

The Jammu and Kashmir is under Governor's rule, as the BJP drew away from the coalition government in the state. Though, the Governor administration is taking keen interest in providing basic needs to the people but so far as the functioning of the government in Jammu division is concerned, the administration  has almost forgot the division. The whole Jammu region especially the Jammu city is reeling under acute shortage of power and that too under the present day humid and scorching heat. There is not an area in the city which is being provided proper power supply. The people are crying for the supply of power but authorities are least bothered. Though every timeduring summer season, the people had to suffer for want of proper power supply but this year the govt. have break all the records  of past. Since last three months the people are suffering due to the inefficiency of PDD. There is unscheduled power cut in almost all the parts of the city, which have made the life of the people especially the old and infirm miserable. Jammu, Nov 13: While appreciating the decision of the Home Ministry to hand over the investigation of cases of terrorist incidents in Kishtwar in the last one year to the NIA, Brig Anil Gupta, Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded a thorough probe into the conspiracy of reviving terrorism in this area which was declared terror-free about a decade ago.
