Jammu, Sep 26: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta flays the statement given by Ghulam Nabi Azad, L.o.P in Rajyasabha, in Jammu to media wherein he has stated that condition of Kashmir and Jammu is worse after the abrogation of Article 370 & 35A from erstwhile state of J&K. Mr. Gupta in interviews to various media channels said that Azad is very senior politician from Jammu and was permitted by Supreme Court to visit his house in Srinagar with a clause of refraining from addressing the media. Instead of acting wisely, Azad continued on befooling the citizens of India by
issuing such irresponsible statements. Gupta said, Congress being oldest national party should support the Government policies pertaining to the National Integrity, security, foreign policy and anti India elements, but by issuing this type of statements congress is directly supporting separatists and Pakistan agenda. As a proof of displeasure among the people of J&K which is not the fact, Pakistan airs the interviews and statements in their TV Channels given by the opposition party leaders, said Gupta, so acting true Indian, such leaders should abstain themselves from issuing statements which are misleading and not based on facts.
On the question of trade and other market scenario in Jammu and Kashmir, which Azad has quoted otherwise, Gupta said that traders are doing good business with some hindrances due to the blockade of Internet services, but people for the national cause have managed with the circumstances. Meanwhile many delegations from different areas of Jammu met Kavinder Gupta at his residence. A delegation of Panchs from Akhnoor Block met former deputy Chief Minister and apprised him with the problems being faced by the inhabitants of the area. Delegation members apprised Gupta regarding the demands submitted to the Government representatives during the ‘back to village’ program and said the works submitted to the officials are the need of the hour and requested to Gupta to approach concerned for early execution. They also brought to the notice of Gupta that the payments for the works executed under MGNREGA are pending since 2016-2017 and labour involved with the scheme is facing tough time due to financial crunch. On the MGNREGA payment issue, Gupta immediately called Farooq Khan, advisor to Governor and discussed the issue. Advisor assured Gupta that the payments pending under head shall be released in very short time across the State. He said that the Modi government at centre is committed for undertaking equitable development of all the three regions of the State so that it comes up as one of the model union territory amongst all states of the country. “BJP is the party of all religions and regions” and believes in the mantra of ‘sabka saath sabka saath’, Gupta said. The delegation members thanked Gupta for his efforts and immediate dispersal of the problems.
