Militancy uprising

Earlier, whenever, the militants were encircled by the security forces, they would instigate the local population to come on the streets, so that the militants can succeed in escaping. In a large number of cases the militants have succeeded in fleeing the site. The security forces maintained restrain only to avoid any civilian casualties. Now with the increase in the militancy operations, the forces have developed new strategy to deal with such situations. They are now cordoning off the area with three tier security cover & did not allow the people up to 2 km from the encounter site. This strategy of security forces has yielded good results. The recent killing of Shujaat Bukhaari in Srinagar shows the desperation of Pakistan to create unrest in the valley. After has killing the security forces have acted more vigorously against militant operations.

That is the reason that after withdrawing of unilateral ceasefire, in its first operations in Tral area of South Kashmir, the forces have neutralised all the holed up militants in the house, despite the fact that the stone pelters tried to disrupt the functioning of the forces. The main thing of the operations was that the security forces had no loss in the operation, which speaks that the security forces are now fighting the militants with aigour and zeal.

Not only the operations in the valley are sufficient but we have also to remain alert on the borders, where as per the intelligence reports a good number of militants are waiting to intrude. The forces on the border and LOC have to exhibit much vigilance to thwart the infiltration attempts.

This will really prove to be beneficial in dealing with the militants in the valley.
